New Mt. Slesse/Crossover Pass Descent Trail

Some friends I brushed a new descent from Mt. Slesse via Crossover Pass this weekend. I've done both the traditional descent and this and I believe this better in all of the following ways:

1. It has water.
2. It takes you directly back to your car.
3. Its faster, both for the above reason (the old way had you descending into a different valley, requiring a shuttle of some sort) and because its just faster.
4. The views from Crossover Ridge are stunning, and the profile photo of the NE Buttress is something you'll certainly want to send your grandmother after you've climbed it.
5. The old way isn't legal anymore, anyway, since the Canadian Forces have closed that valley.

We put a lot of work into this trail and we don't want it to grow over! Get out there and use it! (it is also a nice hiking into a stunning area of Fraser Valley alpine).

And apparently some have been asking about route conditions. Its still pretty snowy up there, and the pocket glacier is still quite big and active. Picture from the weekend:

Great work Seth and friends! That trail is overdue since they deactivated the road on the other side. I did the route with the regular decent for the second time last summer and swore off ever going back after having to walk the extra 12km out the road to our second car at the old highway. Ick!

Does anybody have any first hand recent knowledge of the status of the Nesakwatch Creek FSR? This government website is listing hte 2nd bridge as under construction and closed until further notice.

This would add about 5km to the approach.
