More Sanctuary routes/New wall

Post by Peter » Thu Apr 15, 2004 6:19 pm

There are two almost completed lines right of Into the Blue on the Westwing.

Also, there will be a new crag in the Squamish area soon.

The direct start is still an open project as far as I know the rest of it is Axle, 12a, start up pleasuredome and cut left after bolt 3 I think. Marc did it.......

thanks peter here's what marc 's site says:

Axle - (5.12a, 7 bolts) Start by clipping the first 2 bolts of Pleasuredome and then move left to an adjacent bolt line. A couple of bouldery sequences lead to a small roof section at the top. To finish, tag the anchor then downclimb to the fixed chain and lower. This is much easier on your rope, but has the disadvantage of putting all your faith in one bolt. (FA Marc Bourdon - 05)
Project - (5.?, 8 bolts) This will be a truly brutal direct start to Axle. A "V" grade will likely more accurately describe the difficulties. This project is "closed" at the moment. (Prep. Marc Bourdon/Peter Winter - 05/04)
