Two new routes on Whiskey Jack wall

Post by bike » Tue Jun 21, 2005 11:33 am

There are two new routes on the Whiskey Jack Wall

Good-Bye, Farewell, And Amen 5.10 9 bolts to chains. Marc Fournier It is the furthest route to the right. The crux is as you go over a lip about half way up.

Dyno-Might! 5.11a A0 Prep Marc Fournier FA Gary Foster This route has two starts. You can aid up to the first bolt, or you can do a jump start from the stump. If someone figures a way up the small roof to the first bolt. Let me know.

Have fun

It occured to me today that the first ascent of the A0 start was by me and Gary gets the honor for the first "nine-rock jump start."
Not to be "pedantic" or anything.

I'm going up this week for an attempt at eight rocks.

Gary, while you're at it. Why don't you also call your version Dyno-Might Down.

Hey Marc, Chris and I got on Dyno-might today. It goes free with a traverse from the left. Maybe if you moved the lowest bolt on the left up 3 or 4 feet and added one more for the traverse it would be a damn nice route. I guess you'd have to change the name though. Goes about 10d. We got on the 5.8 as well. It was a little more interesting staying left as long as possible but went maybe 10c? Good-bye, Farewell was pretty nice too. On our way down I got stung three times by wasps and two more that were hiding in my hoodie got me later. Nothing a couple of cans of gas and a hand grenade couldn't fix.
