little cliff down the road from tunnel rock..

Post by supafly » Mon May 12, 2014 8:15 am

Spent an afternoon climbing the short routes on this recently scrubbed cliff. It's still very sandy and the crystals are ouchie.

Anyone know where the topo is? Interested in the grades, they seemed quite hard.

btw we saw a really cool lizard there, largest one i've seen in the bluffs. he seemed to be living in the large hole at the bottom/middle of the cliff. we dubbed it lizard rock :D

Are these newish climbs in the Smoke Bluffs?

Post by squamish climber » Fri Jun 06, 2014 10:48 am

On the way up to Call it a Day the other day we came across this crag that looked as if it had been relatively recently scrubbed. This is on the Loop Trail heading up to Octopus Garden. Hevy is this handiwork?

Any idea on the names and grades?

I was coming back from Tunnel Rock a few weeks ago and saw Hevy cleaning this area. He told my friend the routes are in the range of 10- to 10+.

No kidding Hevy, I just can't keep up with all the new routing you're doing. Thanks for the hard work. The crag looks deceiving, like a short and easy romp.

I guess those cracks require strong jamming and finger locking technique.

I'm going to merge this topic with Cracklandia now.
