Malemute - strawline, Loggers, OHO access
Malemute - strawline, Loggers, OHO access
Just a note to advise that the access to "Mears Island", the bushy ledge used to climb a number of under used classics at south end of Malemute, is much easier. The installation of a 15 foot "ladder" means you no longer have to solo a dirty 5.8 crack with a pack of gear. The actual ledge is also less bushy now. "Loggers are people Too" looks not too scruffy ( super classic) but "Strawline" is looking not as healthy with old suspect knife blades and a filthy finishing crack.
A little renovating is in order, if you ask me. Have fun!
Also before you get too outraged about a 15 foot ladder, go see what I mean first...

Thanks Bruce. Nice to see that forgotten corner of the Malemute getting some attention. Anybody who does those routes, please post up some photos.
