The slabs are dry

Post by steveingold » Sun Jun 27, 2010 8:21 pm

Thanks to everyone for the info on this ideal little spot. Took 3 friends on their first multi, it was perfect!

Just to let anyone know, we found all routes on all pitches wonderfully dry as of Saturday June 26th. Shannon falls was still running with spectacular volume but the crag was nice and dry. One wet spot on the left end, but the water did not touch the routes, so no worries.

Again, thanks to everyone who set these routes, absolutely ideal.
Enjoy!

The Relish Route was recently my daughters first mulit-pitch and the route was perfect for that purpose - grade, style of climbing, belay positions and the walk-off all make it ideal for a first kids multi-pitch.

with regards to the walk off.. we topped out and proceded to walk further up the slab to a view of the falls with a smallish boulder on the far end of the platform. from here we walked towards the end of the platform and cut down right into a gulley of some sort.

following this way we ended up rapping off a tree off some very greasy rock faces further down.

is that the correct walkoff and we just went slightly wrong walking downhill?

Anybody have names and grades for the new routes?

There's a number up off the pitch 3 ledge, and looks like 2 new anchors, with 3 (?) route variations to them to the right of the where pitch 1 starts.

I tried to get to the left-most of the new anchors, but bailed. 11- slab, perhaps?

For what it is worth, I enjoyed the photos.

Is bandwidth really a concern for anyone anymore?

Hrm .. well, maybe when I'm surfing on my phone .. so .. yeah .. I guess I answered my own snarky question. :P
