Lost purple BD helmet at Cal-Cheak while effecting rescue
Damn, I can't believe 3 lost/found posts in a row are mine... and this time I actually lost something! (sort of). Last Saturday, July 19th, large group climbing at Monkey and Weasel before kegger at lake, with newbies, sharing gear, etc. Around the corner at Pulp Fiction, I'm belaying on Son of a Preacher Man, leader whips from above last bolt, down several metres, gashes his leg on ledge to bone. Lowered to ground, 1st aid, ushered by 3 of the group to Whistler where he needs skin graft (refused; took 13 sketchy stitches of tightly stretched skin) to cover 2 1/2 inch diameter hole down to the periosteum. One who accompanied him was last to wear helmet on 5.8 at right edge of wall. Rest of us packed up all the rest of the gear and headed out, did an area sweep, but found out this week that we are missing..
A purple BD helmet with a Canadian Avalanche Association sticker on it. The owner was providing first aid and left her gear to the trust of the group.
Anyone finding it and willing to return it due to circumstances would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. if you climb Son of Preacher, beware cottage cheesy subcutaneous layer and concertina of leg hairs on ledge at 2/3 height, it's gross.
