Trad / Sport / Indoor - looking for a partner.
Hi folks,
I have been climbing for a number of years indoors and fewer years outdoors. Depending on the gym, I climb everything up to and into the 11 range. Climbing sport, I find myself lingering in the low 10 area and I am new to trad climbing so I often find myself having great adventures on 5.7 - 5.8 routes.
I have taken a couple of course in trad and multi pitch but have not had much chance to practice because I have spent most of the past two summers bike touring. This summer, I play on staying around Vancouver more and would like to put more time on the rock to balance the knowledge with experience.
Some folks dedicate their lives to one things and become amazing at it. I am not one of those people. I am into a lot of different activities and for that reason, it is not likely that I will ever climb 5.11 on trad or master a v10 bouldering problem. My goals for this summer are modest: I would like to climb outside once a week. I would like to climb some of the easier multi pitch on on the apron. And I would like to learn to push my self more climbing sport and expand my comfort zone.
If you are interested send me an email. chael(dot)macarthur(at)gmail.com
I don't have a car but I am willing to ride bike from Vancouver to Squamish. A couple of summers ago I did the ride 5 times with a friend in an effort to have a carbon neutral climbing season. (it was an 75% success).
