New climber
Hi all
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post these kinds of messages however i thought this would be a good place to start. I have recently moved to Squamish, im currently living in the international hostel, my name is Sarah and im from Melbourne, Australia. Im trying to find a job and a house and some people to climb with in Squamish. Ive been climbing for around 2years and trad leading for about 6mths. I came to Squamish in hope of improving my climbing and learning new skills such as aid climbing and mountaineering. anyway im going to be here for 5mths or so before continuing on my trip. hope to meet some of you guys when everyone starts getting out climbing again. thanks, sairby

hey, i remember you posting up in Rockclimbing.com in the canada forum over there.....
welcome, eh?
well, all my dirtbaggin friends have left squamish and moved back to the rockies, so i can't help ya with any roommates (i also lost my place to crash, )
jobs? no idea.....since the big mill up there just closed down, i'm assuming its a shitty time to be looking for a job....like whom ever posted it in your other thread on rc.com, you may want to think about vancouver, cost of living (renting, etc) may be higher, and farther from squish, but easier to get a job...but don't get me wrong, try and hack it out in squish
hummmmm...i was gonna go friday to squish but i snagged a shift at the gym and i'm milkin OT at my full-time shop job and snaggin belay shifts at the gym i instruct at (slow) before i go to school for the next two years
so maybe late saturday and sunday...f**k it, ya...i'll be in squish saturday (sadly at 5pm, f**k, thats what the headlamp is for)..but i'll dump my shitty 1.5 hr shift on sunday so i can stay longer sunday
i'll poke around the hostel see if youre there, if ya wants to do some night climbin....if not i'll be solo-aidin....in the dark.....rain or shine.....i must hate myself

Nothing like the sound of thumpin' a piton first thing in the morning...
