Parking issues Murrin, The Chief, Area 44.
Hi All: Well, it looks like the gong show of parking wackiness which has been occurring since the Gondola opened in 2014 has hit a critical level and BC parks and its Parks operator are going to start ticketing and towing illegally parked vehicles at the Chief and Murrin Park lots. This is to preserve emergency services access. See here for more details http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explor ... /stawamus/.
Area 44 parking update. As of today Black Mount logging has started hauling timber out of the Swift Creek FSR. This affects the parking situation at the regular parking site for area 44. Follow the posted no parking signs please. Within the signed zone there are 4 to 5 legal angle parking spots. If these are occupied please park in the Tantulus viewpoints 150 m north on the Swift Creek FSR or on the west side of Highway 99. Cars parked inside the clearly posted no parking zone will be ticketed and/or towed.
