Scale model of The Chief

Post by tobyfk » Sun Oct 05, 2014 2:05 pm

A data visualisation firm, Corbel 3D, and Sea To Sky Air recently collaborated to make accurate 3D measurements of the Chief. You can see the results here http://corbel3d.com/digital-terrain-model/ ... takes a while to load. They also created a plastic model, using a 3D printer, which can be viewed in the Adventure Centre. I went to look for it today, and though I was surprised by the small size of the model (I was reminded of the Stonehenge scene in Spinal Tap), I thought it was quite interesting. Shows off the crazy topography around North North Gully and the 3rd Summit really well.

Cool. I vote for a 3D printed version of the Spinal Tap Stonehedge scene. A true classic. "This amp goes to 11." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3L4EZwmRrA
