TR-Soling recommendations?

Post by dray2009 » Sat Aug 16, 2014 11:05 am

Coming to Squamish for about 10 days in Sept. While I hope to find partners, for those days I can't or simply want to do laps, can someone recommend walls/areas suitable for TR-soling.

And in case I'm not being clear, I'm looking for recommendations on areas with single pitch routes with chains, that I can hike to the top of and drop a fixed line so I can top-rope solo.

Thanks much. Dave

Hi Dave:

Lots to TR with good anchors in the smoke bluffs. Get a guidebook.

Enjoy,
Steve

stooges slab gives you 60 meters of a good mix of climbing. Great ledge at the bottom for transitions as well.

Smoke Bluffs are the best and most accessable and great for running laps. Penny Lane, Pixie Corner, and Neat and Cool being the quickest to access and require little gear in way of directionals. Some routes in the Bulletheads are accessable, and of course Malamute has some easy top access like HMW. As with accessability, you're greatest challenge will be having to find a free route on most nice days....or you can go climb at Penny Lane in the midday sun if you enjoy pain and suffering.
