foreign climbers, some tips needed

Post by esfero » Sat Apr 27, 2013 6:12 pm

Hello everybody, we are a couple of spanish climbers that recently moved to Vancouver for seven months......of course we brought our climbing gear with us!!!
So we need a couple tips from you guys, as for example what´s the best way to travel Squamish from Vancouver, which are the best options for sleeping there....and i would like to add that we have no crack practice as in north Spain limestone is the main rock type: so.....any routes recomendations just to get started?. Of course we want to buy the rock climbing guide when there, but anyway any comments are welcome!!
Thanks a lot!!!!! :D

Take a look to this beautiful west face by my place.......sometimes you cannot place cams or nuts as it would be ok, but anyways its kinda fun!!!!
Can´t wait to try those cracks up there in Squamish!!!!

Greetings, Sergio. welcome to Squamish...Hope you guys are getting some climbing in now that the nice weather has arrived :D

Nice route you linked to back there.. I think my Catalan friend, Jordi, told me about that area....he was here for a season a few years back, and I was glad to show him around, since he showed me around the crags near to his home in Barcelona before that.

Ok, enjoy the granite! Buena suerte.

See you out there, D

Hello Don and Natsdad, thank you for your replies.
Hey Don, yes, that´s a really nice place to climb, we have really loong crags up there in a very enjoyable high mountain environ!! Hope you could go there at least once in your life.
And Natsdad, we were no that people asking for that area........we just went to Smoke Bluffs on Saturday and Shannon Falls on sunday, and we cannot wait to come back there. We are looking for some people with enough room in their cars for both of us to go to Squamish on weekends, so we can share expenses: we live in Vancouver.....just in case you guys know someone who would like to share.
So thank you!!!!!!!! :D
