Hi there! Fellow climbers @ Vancouver Rock Climbing Group have launched a Climbers Unite! $1-1Climb for Japan climbing/fundraising series! Seeing the devastation in Japan, we are really sad and really want to help out in whatever ways we can! We would like to extend this to the whole climbing community to UNITE ALL CLIMBERS to help out Japan! We Climbers support each other's life on the rope and have a strong tradition of mutual help spirit, love for life/climbing, and triumph over hardships! Let our unity triumph over this challenge!

Joe --- Great, great idea.

Very cool concept to show climbers a way they can step up when others are experiencing tragedy and facing a catastrophe. I've put some money down (via the link to Care.ca). I can't make it Sunday but hopefully I'll get on the rock / or gym soon to climb it off for 2011 Sendai Earthquake and Tsunami disaster relief.

By the way Joe and the Vancouver Rock Climbing Group are the same gang that organized the Santa Climbing/Fundraising Challenge at Christmas. Volunteers climbed a total of 15,000 m and raised $1400 for the Climbers Access Society of BC. Link

This campaign is OPEN to all! You can climb/fundraise at your own time and donate whatever amount to any agencies you see fit. $10, $100, $1000, it doesn't matter! But please join the facebook group to show the Climbers' Unity! Joining the event in our group www.vrcg.ca and donating through the Care for Canada site we set up is only one of the many options!

Climbers are amazing people. In our group, many climbers come up with genius initiatives. Last year during the Haiti Earthquake, Olivier suggested the same event and we fundraised $1300.

Hi Guys! Thanks to the support of Richmond Cliffhanger: Gym Admissions WAIVERD for belayers and donating climbers.

Our second fundraising $1/boulder/climb event is confirmed:

Suggested style:
You climb and for each climb or boulder you top, you raise $1 by asking your friends (or yourself) to sponsor you.
- V0: $5/boulder
- V4/5: $25/boulder

Thanks everyone! We are at $1571 (Mar 21 12am). The most amazing is little Fiona raised $554 by completing 30 climbs at the Edge today, with style (a home made logo T-shirt and chalkbag)!
