closures in the gorge

just got back from whistler.
there's a sign up at the top of starchek saying that all the climbs in that area are closed till september 30th.
thought you might like to know.

I would think it was for the highway construction

it looks like they have started drilling and blasting in that area, so thats probably the reason for the closures.

I climbed Star Chek a month or so ago and there are big sharp chunks of rock lying around at the top of the route. At least one tree has been knocked down.

Apparently the contractors visited Murray at VP a little while back and asked him to discourage climbing there until they get their work done. Probably not a bad idea.
