back door santa - broken hold

Post by serac » Mon Aug 25, 2008 2:49 pm

A glued on jug on back door santa may have come off making the crux a good deal harder. 13b?

It blows that it was glued in the first place.

Maybe we could start another long ethical debate with this one.

Since we've pretty much all done this route already in its orginal state, and the "crux" hold - which has been glued on since the ice age- has broken off, would it be acceptable if we just glued on some random nice rock in its stead? Personally I feel that with all the chipping out there anyway, why not just glue this pile into something fun again? Anyone for or opposed?

ill never be for chipping or gluing holds on any routes despite what happened in the past. resend re grade and alter name. learn from the past. dont just say oh well weve already screwed up. might as well keep screwing up. raise the bar for climbers dont lower it.
