cool looking wall at the bluffs

Post by crazymonkey » Sun Jun 22, 2008 12:16 pm

Went in Friday night to climb the Zip but blew right past it and came upon a really cool looking wall, about halfway between the Zip and the yellow spray painted "no tresspassing" line, short hike up from the main trail The rock looked freshly scrubbed and had a couple prominent scoops mid-wall with lots of cracks and a handfull of shiny bolts. Didn't have time to explore it since the light was fading fast. What is it?

Sounds like High Cliff to me... there's been some new action there recently (see: http://www.squamishclimbing.com/squamis ... php?t=1559) and I'm pretty sure there's another thread on new stuff there too, but I couldn't find it quickly enuff...

Glad you mentioned this...I was wondering about the freshly scrubbed slab on the main trail there, between the Zip and the road. It's the one with the blasting holes. Looks like someone has done an incredible amount of work there. Is it ok to toprope or is it still a project(I noticed red tape on one of the bolt threads) awaiting further elbow grease and the imminent FA?

If that's the first roadcut wall you come to after leaving Loggers Lane (near Jug Slab and before you get to Boys of Porteau), then this must be about the third time now that that particular wall has been scrubbed and climbed and allowed to grow over again?

I also noticed "10a" scrawled in yellow on the rock near a mossier section. Project?

What's the deal with that guy? I always see him soloing around Burgers and Fries when there are guides out with newbies.
