Sport Climbing Harnesses?

Post by Brendan » Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:11 pm

it's time to upgrade from my original arc'teryx zzril harness which i've had for too long. i was just wondering what people are using for sport/ gym climbing. i have the petzl sama for gear/ multi-pitch, but think it's just too big for sport climbing...
i'm looking for something w/ 2 gear loops, and ultra light. so far, i was thinking either the metolius safe tech sport harness http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/safetechSport.htm or the petzl hirundos (i love the petzl buckle system) http://en.petzl.com/petzl/SportProduits?Produit=492#
is there any other options?
thx

I just use a piece of 1" webbing with some zap straps attached for gear loops. Weighs about 100g. Its the best way to go for sure.

ya, i know what u mean brock, i too used to wear a swami belt!! it was never an issue cause i was trained in the 'leader must not fall' era. having said that, i rarely weighted it, so i never had to worry how strong it was...
