Has anyone local used one of these yet? I'm tired of the gri gri burn (skinny rope) i ordered one online and it should be here next week ... :)

yup,
better with skinny ropes, not fatter ones. If I recall, to feed rope you have to pull slack towards you, and to lower there is a really awkward handle which you have to hold down, right in front of your body (both elements being counter-intuitive to the grigri afficianado).

Hi,
I don't have it anymore, it was a sample. I used it for a few days in the summer, and passed it on to some other folks to try. I had no problem going back to the grigri, even with skinnier ropes, but that is probably more by default and habit than by design. I know there are merits to the sum, eddy and cinch but none are compelling enough for me to break my marriage to the ol' clamp.
Cheers, Ty
