Thanks, so that's Kyle Korral on the Gloaming 5.10b (Fa Robin Barley and John Howe 2003). Looks like a nice route

Luke and Ais looks like an excellent time on Washington Column, nice bivy site. Thumbs up on the slide show. Is that your first Yosemite trip?

I think Crag-X is an underrated cliff. It's got a couple of decent routes on it, everything protects well, and has no line-ups!

Excellent photography there, you're getting good behind the lens. I would think it takes some effort to get the shots from the side and from the top. What kind of camera and lens do you use?
Thanks Dave. I shooting with a Digital Canon Rebel XT and the stock 18-55mm lens, but I have a 0.7x58mm wide converter I can screw on to the filter ring and it really changes things. I shot some of the far stuff the other day without it but i'm really liking the results I get with it.

Ya watch out for that owl if you goto Skaha.. it's in a canyon most people don't go to but it does attract hard men. Birds don't like it when you get to close to their nests for some reason :)

That's pretty funny you took a picture of Kyle on the Gloaming. Awesome route. He told me he climbed it that day.. Kyle is the one in most of my pictures. He is a really good climber.

Luke- Nice work bud!
The Gloaming, excellent route.
+1!

+1 It's heaven for a 5.10 leader! Center Street is three star in my book!

Try "A Piece of Pie" into "Side Street" next time. The top of those two routes is the same as Baby Lizard anchor.

It looks like it may not be well travelled but I climbed it on the weekend and it was quite nice, you avoid all the bushes by nice face holds. The write up is misleading, its 5.9/10c first pitch.

I checked out smith rock a couple of weekends ago with some friends. We headed down and set up camp just as it started to rain. After a couple of bottles and some cards the rain got harder so we went to bed. I woke up several times in the night wondering if I was in squamish as it was coming down very hard.

Got up in the morning to the sun and a nice wind. The campground seemed oddly dry for how hard it was raining so went headed out to the crag. Everything was dry! crazy desert air. Toooo bad everyone else figured that out pretty quick since it got crazy busy.

All the frontside stuff was packed after we did a couple of routes so we headed to the backside and checked out spiderman buttress and mesa verde. Some cool climbs back there. Fun place I suggest a roadtrip!

I climbed on the Malamute for the first time this past weekend. We did a couple of sport slabs (why? WHY?! I hate slab SO MUCH) and then ambled down to try High Mountain Woody. What a fantastic route this is!

Jmace- I did Piece of Pie to the Baby Lizard anchors last weekend, it was sweet. Pretty tough at the pin, but cruxy. Side Street is when you go all the way up the aret no?

Paul thanks for the Smith report and photos! I've allways wanted to go there.

Jipstyle- High mountain woody is awesome. A 48 meter rope stretcher, it's a pretty sweet pitch. Imagine the effort It took to clean it!

Got out quite a bit this week. Some cragging at the bluffs,

Luke on Werewolves of London 11b

Went up to Shannon on Saturday with my girlfriend and did the new 5.9 next to Kalhanie, It was quite fun. Then we met mr. Frimer and saw Fred Beckey on Skywalker.

Sunday was cragging at the base of the Grand,

Natedogog on Rutabaga 5.11a (5.10a p1)

Andy styles Exasperator 10c

Then I ditched work Monday to run up the Buttress and we went to The Cirque of the Uncrackables after. That place is cool!

Cleaning it must have been quite a task!

I returned to it today and red-pointed it ... my first solid 5.9 on gear. Absolutely fantastic pitch ... I wanted to rap back down and do it again but I was dragged off to Murrin for some bolted silliness.

Did some cragging at SBP on Sunday.
Guess who this is on Duh 5.8 at Cabin Boys Crag?
Image
With hair like that it's not that hard.
Cabin Boys is a nice crag. Some fine 10 + up there.

Take a peek at the slanting corner . It's called Wet Dream 10a. If it's dry, that's a climb I'd like to get on.
Image

Later we went up to Lumberland to check out some of the easy moderates. This is a great place to climb, so many new routes. The second tier climbs are especially nice with this little roof to climb up and over. Sorry no pic.

The corner is awesome, although rarely completely dry, hence the name. The opening of of the forest around that cliff will help immensely, but the forest above still drains right into the top of the corner...
