Hi Rich,
The fate of those boulders has rested on the conclusion of negotiations between the province and other land-owning interests in the area. It has been 60-70% sure over the last year that the highway between the Apron parking and the current Chief parking would be expanded westward (ie toward the water), and current work there might reflect this (crew access roads on that side). But it is not a done deal. The SAS is lining up a meeting next week to get the latest goods and see if things have solidified along those lines, and to chat abit about the delays at the Papoose. We'll hopefully have some fresh news on these fronts on squamishaccess.ca soon.
Notwithstanding the direction of highway expansion, I think Desire might be affected anyway; the hydro-pole on top of Shots gives me hope that it will remain intact.
Cheers,
Tyrone
