Please Note! (June 19/20)
On the weekend of June 19/20, the first quadriplegic to ever return to climbing after a Spinal Cord Injury, will be attempting to climb the entire Grand Wall.
Brad's chance to climb the Grand Wall has come after much hard work by himself and others around him. He also needs support in his endeavor by people who are only available on the weekend.
Brad's chosen line of ascent will mostly be to the right of the Grand Wall route, but will cross over and share the final two anchors. There will also be a fixed line across Bellygood ledge prior to and during the two day ascent.
As others may wish to climb the Grand Wall route at this time, we ask that you please respect the gear in place, and plan your ascent appropriately. If possible, we recommend that people avoid the final two pitches of the Grand Wall for both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Brad is hoping to begin at 9am Saturday morning, sleep on Bellygood ledge that evening, then climb to below the South Summit, and rappel to the base on Sunday.
We would like to give climbers sufficient notice of our plans, in the hope that this will not cause inconveniences, and ensure a safe climbing situation for everyone.

or give him a call at 604.730.2723.
If you would like to help out, please send him a note, as he is always in search of support.
There will also be a BBQ Sunday afternoon for volunteers and anyone interested in finding out more.
Thank you, and all of us in the Vertical Challenge Team appreciate your consideration!
