sport climbing places closer than chek

Post by Climbingjunky » Thu Jul 13, 2006 7:10 am

I head up to Chek quite a bit to climb but I find that it's such long drive to get there everytime, especially coming from Surrey. Weekends go by so fast so time is so vital. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other sport climbing spots, in the 5.9-5.12 range, that does not have a long approach, does not require trad gear, is not mostly slab or crack climbing and can be easily accessible by a small vehicle. Any help would be appreciated, sorry to sound picky, I guess something a little closer would be nice. I've been to the Senior Center once, it was alright and Murrin's great but I haven't been to al lthe areas there. Thanks. :)

Try the Sanctuary. Any of these areas are only 15 mins difference in driving time from going to Chek. Are you that pressed for time?

Thanks MCpl. Honestly, yeah most weekend i'm pretty much pressed for time. Have too many things going on, have to prioritize my schedule so i can get more climbing time. :)
