Bleach/ Hydro/Playground/Boulders/New routes

Lots going down in the Bluffs last week. Bleach! On Tuesday, I got phone call from someone on the Smoke Bluffs committee, saying that they had a complaint from a member of the public that I quote "Hevy Duty is using Bleach at Krack Rock." To say I was pissed off is polite ! I informed them I'm working at Lower Crack X, and i NEVER use bleach. I arranged to meet the S. B. C the next day at Krack Rock. We met up, and checked out Krack Rock. No Bleach!! I said to them maybe the member of the public got his crag, and the person cleaning it wrong. I suggested they look at Crystal Wall! Bingo!!the top pitch of Natural Carpet ride was glowing White. Another well known route developer has ropes hanging down the crag. We went to the top and found a bag of socks, full of comet/ajax! Also, the new anchors atop the route were the Washer and Chains set up. I Posted this because right now on F/B theres quite the debate going on so I thought give people chance to express their thoughts /opinions on the forum .

BC Hydro
BC Hydro are again working in the Park, and they have cleared a lot of Alders/ brush below the power lines in front of the Battered Balls /Mosquito area. The crags now have an open aspect, and will dry real fast. The view when you approach from Penny Lane is now stellar! Lots of rock. The remaining debris is being dealt with.

Playground
Last week a group of local Hospital Hill residents and parks/city officials got together to discuss a small Kids play park near the new toilet block, it`s going to be custom made job. I believe it is up before the council, at the beginning of March. Good Luck !

Boulders
Just to let all you all you Boulderers know during this winter three new areas are under development within five minutes walk from the lower car park. 20 + problems! will give you details soon.

New Routes
There's tons of new routes going in this winter, I will post them up later in the spring. Also I would ask anyone who wants to do new routes, please don't climb routes with anchors and fixed ropes on them! there's rock everywhere in the bluffs just Dig your own out . Cheers Hevy.
