I'm heading over next week all the way from the east coast ( Halifax ).
If I'm only spending 2 day's in squamish, would I be right in saying that the "Chek" would have the better 5.9 - 5.10 problems? Or is there another area with more to do?

I think that Cal-Cheak (a little furthur north from Chek) might have more of what you are looking for.

I'd put my vote in for Check.
Charlottes Web
Master of my Domain (second pitch especially)
Kijigushi (sp?)
Giddey Up
I'm sure there's more.

Weather will be a factor for you.... its sub-zero there now constantly and there is snow in the forecast.
If you wanna climb 5.9 or 5.10 I'd also consider Rogues.

The cold Isn't going to be a factor. Us Nova Scotian's Boulder all winter long.
As far as snow / Ice, will the routs be covered?

Conan, if you find your way around Vancouver, stop at MEC or any Cliffhanger and buy yourself the ultimate guide to Squamish, "Squamish Select" from MArc Bourdon. From that book, I would say have a look at Murin, I think the winter climbing should be ok, dries fast and have morning sun. It is where I want to go next, sure it is not the chief or the squaw but for fun sport climbing with only few trad gear...

I picked up the whistler rockclimbers guide in victoria, and I'm taking Pete's advice.
The Plan is to hit the wall Friday and maybe sunday.

Ya, it was very cold, but we gave it a go anyhoo. Tried 3 routs, all were covered in snow, which made for some interesting falls!
I'll have to make a fall trip some time soon! I was very impressed.
Thanks for the info!
