Definitive Squamish Offwidth Checklist

Post by Artem » Mon Jun 13, 2016 10:05 am

I'm putting together a list of Squamish Wide. I'm wondering what's missing or if someone's got more beta.

Nice list... are you including chimneys?

Satan's Slit, 5.5 Smoke Bluffs (chimney)
Hip Hugger, Campground Wall (chimney)
Pitch 1 of Sunshine Chimney, Campground Wall
South Arete, 5.9 on the apron
The Great Drain, 5.10b Slhanay
Clean Corner, 5.8 (hard), Chief
Vertical Smile, (mostly Un-protectable chimney)
Attainment, 10+ left of Slhanay area
David Haselhoffwidth, Dihedralands - Top shelf area
Mouldy Green OW, Dihedralands - Top shelf area
something like "Grain of Time?" (I can't remember the name), Dihedralands - Top shelf area
Nancy's, 5.10, Ultraviolet (easier version of Chunderdragon)

Looking for OW partners?

Nice list you've got coming together there. Your entry for Polaris possibly should be in the 5.10c section, as the offwidth pitch is of that grade.

Polaris, P4, 5-18", mostly bolted, with healthy spacing...

I guess the natural progression is chimney climbs. I know there's quite a few more.

Yes I'm looking for ow partners : )

On the Prow Wall there is also 'Masher Crack'. Originally an offwidth project called the 'Fuckoffwidth' it was bolted and subsequently laybacked at 12a. Still awaiting a proper ascent I believe?

I doubt it would be laybacked if those bolts weren't around.
