With the days in the 2015 Squamish climbing season waning, I would like to post a few nominations for this year's Scrub Brush Awards, primarily in the Trad categories as that is what I climb.

Best Retro scrub: Jump to Light Speed, 10d, Shannon Falls. Kris Wild, 2014. Because it is easily one of the best moderate splitter cracks in Squamish and for the discussion the spicy end slab moves have provoked on protection standards. Stellar finger to hand 45m long crack.
Best new Moderate Multipitch: Chewbacca, 10b, Shannon Falls. Sean Pickersgill. 2013. Nominated last year also this route has three stellar pitches and 3 variations on first pitch of consistent quality and grade. One of the less known gems of Squamish.

Best new crag: New Delhi Cliff, - Because it is not everyday a new trad multipitch cliff is developed.

Best new Hard trad Multipitch Line- The Daily Universe, 12b, Tony McLane, Jorge Ackermann, 2015. First Free route through the roofs on the Sherrif's Badge. Wow!

Best Route Name: Beware the Toprope Parasite, 10 b, Altamont, Chris Small, 2015. Named after those people who never seem to lead routes but will endlessly top rope stuff you rope gun for them, usually those routes which are elementally hazardous to your rope. Tend to aggregate in large, loud groups also.

I want to add a couple of nominations to those listed above.

Hard trad single pitch: The Moustache Women, 11b, Quercus Wall, Murrin. Jay Green, Ryan Davy. 2015. A long sustained hand traversing pitch with glassy footholds characteristic of Murrin, this climb is a real arm burner. Plus Jay and Ryan cleaned the bottom half of my climb, Clean Shaven Girls (10 -) with this route, Thanks guys.

Moderate single pitch sport: Fences on Fire. 11-, Altamont, Murrin. Matt Magee, 2015. This climb packs a lot of punch into 6 bolts with an interesting mantle moves and sporty finish. Excellent technical climbing.

Moderate single pitch trad. Aquarius Wept. 10 -, Altamont, Murrin. Matt Magee. 2015. Challenging moves with thin pro and an unexpected crux and good moves through a roof make this climb a real winner.
