The Grandfather of Murrin Loop Trail

Post by squamish climber » Fri Oct 03, 2014 1:44 pm

There is a great write up in this week's Chief honouring Brian Moorhead and celebrating the opening of the Murrin Loop trail last month.

Look around you the next time you climb at Smoke Bluffs Park, Murrin and other places in Squamish. Almost all the things that make it climber and visitor friendly are there because of Brian's leadership, working quietly behind the scenes.

The climbing world is lucky to have Brian and others like him to show us what it means to be climbers and members of a wider community.

I think this quote from the story sums up Brian's selfless philiosophy.
My family and I have a lifelong interest in mountaineering, so I see my small contribution to improving Squamish area climbing assets as continuing a long tradition of volunteerism and an important part of the climbing life,”
Thanks Brian for all your work.

I second that notion. The new loop trail in Murrin is outstanding.

Just don't call it his "legacy", b/c as he says, legacies are for dead people!
