2014 falcon closures?
Are there any falcon closures in effect so far this year? I haven't seen any mention of them, but could have just missed them.
Re: 2014 falcon closures?
No falcon closures yet this year.
If you encounter a falcon please respect them and keep your distance. Please report falcon sightings to BC Parks Joanna.Hirner@gov.bc.ca or 604-924-2228.

Re: 2014 falcon closures?
Just got this message from BC Parks.
"Several recent reports from climbers suggest that a pair of Peregrine Falcons has a nest in the Upper Black Dyke Zone of the Chief, likely above Bellygood Ledge and south of the Black Dyke, in the area of the routes Upper Millenium Falcon, Universal Key and Shaved Bum. Ongoing monitoring should pinpoint the nest site in the near future, and more specific route closures will follow. Until then, please use caution when climbing near this area, respect the falcons and keep your distance, and if possible choose to avoid climbing above Bellygood Ledge on the routes mentioned above. Please continue to report falcon sightings to Joanna Hirner: 604-924-2228. Thanks to those who have already contributed reports!"
