Ice climbing Shannon Falls

Would anyone who has climbed on Shannon Falls be willing to share some thoughts on conditions it takes to form? Temps, length of time, etc. I recognize there are tons of variables in the works here. Any perspectives would be appreciated!

Hey there yesterday wasn't ready quite a bit of water running maybe good this weekend.Also theres very little ice in the bluffs the only place we found any ice was at crack rock.Now the good news theres tons of ice behind the Chief . I would come up and look around theres a lot ice steaks above 2000ft ,you can see a big one behind the squaw accessible from the forest road to the gondola .The crags are all bone dry right now so rock climbing is an option the bluffs are perfect right now cheers Hevy

Thanks for the input both! Climbed Shannon today - wet but fun. Climbing continues a bit beyond what was visible which was a pleasant surprise. Ended up as 7 pitches (mostly very moderate) as we broke it up. Starting climbers R was probably the trickiest part but set us up for cruiser ice higher up. A soloist ahead of us looked very comfy and smooth - props!

I would guess it will be climbable for a couple days, but I don't really know how high-volume flows like this behave. I'd love to hear observations from any that gets on it to help with that learning.
