Truck and dog stolen from Apron lot

Post by bcholtcodevlin » Sun Jun 23, 2013 11:55 pm

If you were at the Apron parking lot yesterday (Sunday 6-23-2013) at the Route 99 and Mamquam Service Road) and saw anything suspicious around 4:00 pm please contact me. My son's truck was stolen from the lot and his beloved dog was in the truck. The thief/ves very quickly smashed out the lock core on the truck and left it on the ground next to the truck. The truck is a 2002 silver Dodge Diesel Pickup with a distinctive green cap and bike rack. Wyatt is a chocolate lab. My son is heartsick over the loss of his dog. If you saw anything or anyone acting suspiciously PLEASE email me with the details or message me here or contact the Squamish RCMP.

Wyatt, the dog, has been found in Kelowna by the RCMP when the thieves sold one of the stolen phones to someone who called. The RCMP traced the transactions and recovered the dog with the thief/ves last night. Still no word on the truck or the bikes or the other gear/photo equipment or documents. They are investigating in Kelowna now.

Glad to hear Wyatt's been found. Looks like Wyatt and your son were best buds. Hopefully, Wyatt is okay and was not harmed or mistreated by thieves. I like what Sgt. Wayne Pride with the Squamish RCMP said in this Global news story: “They [the thieves] sure as heck better be taking care of this dog,” Pride said.

Here's a couple of pictures of Wyatt:

Hope your son gets his truck and gear back. Keep us updated. Sorry your trip up from Bellingham to Squamish went south.

And in this Chief news story Sgt. Wayne Pride notes they are stepping up patrols of the Chief and Shannon Falls parking lots. He also says they are have put in a request for surveillance cameras to be installed at parking lots. I think this is a great idea and I hope the do it.
