Someone Stole My Rope
Climbing is all about trust. Trusting one's belayer, gear, protection, etc. If I can't trust people to not steal the gear that I leave on a route that I am investing my own time, money and effort in bolting, so that they can climb later, then I don't think I am going to develop anymore in established areas (ie Chek).
The climbing community has lost because now, people that are putting up new routes are going to think twice about doing this, and if they still do are going to take longer to develop because of the extra work (ie. re-hanging ropes) that'll need to be done.
If anyone knows the culprit, let me just remind you that you can never trust a traitor, rat, or THIEF ever again.
