Re: 5.10 crack testpieces

A few to add: - First pitch great game. Lots of great hand sized crack climbing with a mirror image exasperator crux. - Talking holds in the bluffs is a good quality and burly .10a - definitely not a typical bluffs .10a. - Biffo the bear (.10b) and popeye (.10d) at comic rocks both feel quite burly ...

Re: Mank Patrol

Pitches 2,3 and 4 on Cruel shoes have rusty protection and anchor bolts. Good candidate for a retro.

First two or three protection bolts on supercharger are pretty rusty.

Teetering on the brink of madness has some new stainless bolts - 1/4 inchers!

Re: Spring Cleaning

Nice work BK! Thanks. Yos pillar left side was something that had occurred to me to clean up - you beat me to it. Drove by there the other day. Pretty sure that area looks a lot cleaner. Nice twin to Milk Run now. Can't wait to get on your entire spring list.

red rock cracks

Headed down there for a bit. Have been before but didn't climb a tonne of the longer routes - some of which have some pretty real crack climbing. Is taping a requirement on this type of sandstone? I never do here in Squamish.

Anybody got any good taping methods? Route recommendations?

This sounds cool. Where to from the top of Freeway first pitch? Stay in the corner? Never heard of Stone Free.

Hopefully we get some decent fall weather and I can give this a try...

Did Squeamishness today. I'd give it 5.10burly. Robin wasn't kidding about the 4" gear. First two pitches were ok, next two were memorable and the fifth was a joy. Hopefully it gets continued traffic and stays clean. Rapping Dean Channel with a single 60 JUST makes it. Two rope stretching raps (the ...

Dude, that sucks. I really hope you get that stuff back. I'll keep an eye out. Before you go home...I've got some cams and nuts I could loan you - not tonnes of gear but some extra stuff around that I hardly use. You'd be welcome to it. It's a shame your stuff was nicked, it would be more of a shame...

Interesting... The Stawamus Chief provincial park rock climbing strategy can be viewed here: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/stawamus/stawamus.pdf It states (among other things obviously) that trees are not to be cut unless authorized by BC Parks. Cleaners have been working outside ...

Gearheart! Post of the thread for sure. We can not allow the watering down of our experience just because some choppers would walk up the descent trail. Maybe we should chop the descent trail too? This is getting way out of hand. What's next? A via ferratta to the top of every summit on the chief? O...

Interesting that Baldwin and Cooper actually named the line of "Sentry Box " as "Artificial Land". Given their influence on early Squamish climbing and the fact that Hamish has this in writing in the ORIGINAL Squamish guide book, I would agree that this error should be corrected.

all the talk of NNA reminded me...the fixed lines on the lower NNA are pretty beat. That's probably an accident waiting to happen.

I'll join the chorus of folks who've climbed Genesis in the last 15 years. It was 7 years ago for me. Not terribly memorable to be honest but I do remember it was the right hand line and it was a bit dirty. I walked by there a few weeks ago and it looks much improved. Thanks. I think I'll go craggin...
