Chatted with Harry Young who bolted it he says it is 12b or 12c depending on conditions but didn't really want to commit to a grade.

Re Bolting Fund

FYI

If you find manky bolts or hangers on a route in Squamish just come in to Climb On and we'll give you bolts and hangers to replace them. Doubly true of anchours. This for replacing bolts that already exist not for retro bolting existing free routes that are just plain old scary.

Climb On has a bolt fund for the very purpose of replacing manky bolts. So you don't need to use up your own money.

kudos to climbers

Just taking my hat off to the two people who were on the split pillar today. Nice going. Merci Me seemed like a giant wet streak. A question would you rather rap in the dark or do belly good in the dark.

Years ago I did a short stint as a window washer and we could screw the top of one pole into the bottom of another and easily make a pole 8' , 10' or 12' long or longer depending on what combination of 4' or 6' lengths used. I assumed you could do this sort of thing with a stick clip. Admittedly the...

Hey Pete I have no argument with you about redpointing or working a route. Now that that final jug on Silent M. has fallen off I am not sure that I will be able to onsight it anyway. What about stick clipping things which are more reasonable such as Local Boys or Magic Carpet is it cool to stick the...

Weighing in my two cents stick clipping is fine if your working a route, just don't claim to have onsighted the route. I've never used one but I rarely climb beyond my onsight abilty so it is less of an issue.

distractions

I suggest sending the kids out to chase the dogs. It should provide enough of a distraction for a few minutes of intimate time with your bog roll. If you have no kids of your own I am sure that you can offer to babysit somebody else's.

Clearing the subject up

I should have been more clear. I lead climb at the level you top rope. I am also happy to second 5.7 while you get your feet underneath you leading trad. As to just grabbing numbers 5.9 A2 will get you to the top of any mountain in the rockies.

I climb roughly around your level. My spring and summer Sundays are committed to sailing but my schedule is bendable for the rest of the week. PM me if your thinking of heading up to Squamish and we'll exchange phone #s etc from there.
