Re: New Fixed Chain on Broadway

Out of curiosity, what are people's opinions on the fixed ropes above the Roman Chimneys?

I'm not calling you a liar mate, just telling you a thing I know. For all we know the bolt had already been tightened or even replaced. Chill out.

Re: Loose bolt at the crest

Was there on Sunday and a guy was roping up for it. I told him about the fourth bolt, he checked it on his way up and said the bolt looked brand new and bomber.

Maybe Rogues or Pet Wall would be a better bet.

The Asylum faces west and will probably dry in the afternoon sun, what grade are you looking for?

Re: Wire Tap

I went for a visit to the crag yesterday while on a hike, looks like things are mossing over. Take a wire brush with you, or a chainsaw to take out some of the trees that add shade to the area. Hope the new guide book adds some traffic. (Did Wire Crack make it in?) Can't help but wonder if pulling t...

So is it time to take the pin out of Diedre now? Never really understood why that one was there in the first place.

Good point, I should start bringing out tape on multipitches.

Re: What is typical squamish climbing?

Sport isn't really Squamish's thing. Yes, there is some great sport, but there's not that much selection, and the number of worthy sport climbs at a 5.10 or below level is pretty dire. As a result those routes tend to get pretty gang-raped in the summer. Non-slab sport multipitch routes exist, but t...

Holy sh*t! Congratulations on the FFA.

Snaked it from poor old Mr. Stanhope eh? I suppose he's got plenty of sources of glory on his resume. Nice work!

Staples was great fun! Thanks for cleaning it up.

The staple scars are pretty severe, can anyone who knows how to patch up granite take some glue with them next time you go?

(Or tell me how to do it so I can?)

Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)

I agree with supafly that you don't need any of our approval, and I'm sorry if that's what I conveyed. Probably should have been more sensitive when phrasing given the criticism you normally receive. I was actually defending your route-setting styles when chatting with another climber I met on the r...

Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)

Thanks again Jeremy. Out of curiosity, why did you choose to break it into four pitches? It seemed to go pretty naturally in two.

Everybody else, get on it before it's too busy to get on! Don't bother scrambling your way to the base again.

Re: Starter trad rack for Squamish?

I'd argue you could skip the trad draws for a beginner rack, assuming you have regular draws to fit the bill with a bit of rope drag. Trad draws are sweet though, so if you don't have regular draws and can afford it then definitely buy some.

Re: Genesis Wall - Murrin Park

Had a great time in Genesis/Geneside on Sunday, thanks for the hard work. Lame about the bolt, as a 5.10 leader would've liked to have felt comfortable trying it ground up instead of TR.

Those routes were definitely the highlight of the day and a great addition to Murrin. Keep up the good work.
