Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)
Jeremy, I'm curious as to how much of Rambles is the route Crystal Burst 10b. done in 1979 by Ed Seedhouse and Hamish Fraser.
It looks like Rambles is a re-scrub of it mostly with a different 5.8 exit.

Re: A few days left to pre-order Squamish Select
I think Marc did an amazing job with his new guidebook. It is so clear and easy to parse the topos and route diagrams. Super nice photography all over it. Stellar work. A couple of the grades in there seems questionable by a letter grade but who cares. Mercury Vapour - 10a, it was 10d in McLane's gu...

Re: Some scary moments on Calculus Crack with a happy ending
Gee whiz. Why is that guy soloing when he says he can't even climb much harder. Climbing all on top of people. What a complete douche. Glad he didn't die at least.

Don't reck my send of Banana Peeled man! I'm going for the head-point ascent free climbed. Ticks are part of my send routines.

Re: New 5.9 Variation on Squamish Buttress
Ya, I hear ya Nathan. But a lot of people think it's not 5.9, we were really on the fence about the grade but 10a sounds reasonable.

Re: New 5.9 Variation on Squamish Buttress
Does anyone have the time to add a bolt to this pitch? People have told me it feels poorly protected after the 2nd bolt, once you step around the arete. You need to do a couple of full on arete moves with poor protection at this point, then you gain some easier terrain. I'm not sure why we did not p...

Re: Rambles (4p, 5.8)
Was fun. Good work on this scrubbing endeavor. Not sure why it is set up as a 4 pitch route when it seems so natural to do it in two.

Re: New routes above and beyond area
Many moons ago I did Cruising to Infinity. But I do remember we had double ropes with us, we happened to use them quite a lot back then. So the rap was long.....
Stellar route that thing. Needs a scrub I'm sure.

It was some large quantity independent drug dealer that presumably got whacked by some gang and left for dead on the road. Bastards! Making me boulder at the Grand Wall instead of the Cleans. I'll kill them!

Susan Chapelle is running as well. She is a climber and a very strong advocate for the climbing community. Do your research, get to know her. Awesome woman.

Re: Fixed Ropes on Multipitch Routes?
I got on this yesterday. fun stuff. It's a pretty convenient way to get up some pitches fast by yourself. The ropes appear to be in good condition from what I saw up to pitch 4, but do I have questions about them. 1) How long have the ropes been up there? Since the spring? After how long should thes...
