I'd vote for a bolt... if you don't want to use it don't clip and place the 0 but dieing on a route is pretty stupid. I was there when the guy fell he basically landed in between several sharp rocks that would have killed him.

The sport climbing in squamish is good. Maybe not as good as the trad but well worth doing.

it really depends on what you are climbing and where? Sport? Trad? hard (12-) or easier?
The Pet wall dries fast (within a day for some routes).

pinner Posted: Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:30 am Wow, I will deifinitely disagree with Dakine. By far most of the sport climbs in the S2S corridor are 11 and up. Ideally, a range from 5.7 to 12 can keep things interesting for everybody and their girl/boyfriends, but there are very few areas around with easy...

I can't offer much in regard to rock quality but if you are setting sport routes a range of grades is optimal mid 10's to 13's. There are plenty of areas with soft routes for new climbers.
As a climber I'd only be interested in a wall with several 12- to 12+

Cool multi on the Chief " Stairway to Heaven" 18 pitches (I think) all sport 10b at the hardest pitch.
Several short multis at Chek (2-3 p) 5.9 to 10a most of them are at the wall called the Crest but there are several scattered around in that area.

Older quickdraws

I replaced some of my older quickdraws this weekend (switched to Petzl) and was wondering what to do with the old ones? Is there a recycling program for them? They are in pretty good shape (Black diamond) no signs of wear & tear. How often do regular users (climbing projects once a week for 6months)...

Thanks Axel,
I'm hoping to prevent the nuts from falling off which has been happening more often for some reason. It is expensive but i'll guinea pig it and see what happens. :D

Loc Tight for loose nuts on routes

over the last few years of climbing in squamish I've run into more than a few loose nuts (not the climbers the stainless steel type). I've always packed a wrench to tighten them up but i was wondering why no one has ever used Loc-tight to stop them from backing off? There are two types Red and Blue ...

does anyone have a guess on how much it would cost to pave it? or perhaps pave the problem sections? I'd be happy to throw money into a project for that.
