Gibbin Classic 15m Slackline

One of these: http://www.mec.ca/product/5020-370/gibb ... slackline/

Bought for a fickle teenager two years ago ... but was barely used and has been back in the original box for ~23 months. $40.

PM me through this site if you are interested.

Re: Heads up Gran Fondo cycling race Saturday - expect delay

A reminder that this tiresome event rolls on for another year with the whole of the Squamish population east of the 99 (Valleycliffe, Highlands, Garibaldi Estates, etc) being imprisoned in their homes from 8am -11am on Saturday 6th. http://granfondowhistler.com/about-event/traffic-impacts Not too go...

Re: Escape Velocity, 5.9, Mt. Habrich

Did this thing today. Nothing special about the climbing but I liked that it finished right at the summit. As you would expect from Mr Frimer it is well thought out and would be very doable for, say, a mom/ dad plus kids team. Trail could do with some more work IMO but perhaps I am too fussy.

Re: Any tips for climbing Squamish Music Fest Weekend?

Anyone have any tips from last year on how to navigate the crowds in order to get some climbing in? Last year the big gridlock was on the Thursday, with campers arriving and registering, as the organisers had increased ticket numbers substantially without a plan to handle it. I recall it taking abo...

Did you rap the route? If so, any problems with that?

Just curious ... do the Chief park people know you are doing this? And have you discussed with Squamish Access Society?

Re: Attack of the Arc'gucci Clones 5.11 six pitch

There was at least one ascent today and another team hot on our heels, so perhaps someone will post a review of the full route. I will just say that " WARNING!!!! all raps are near the maximum length TIE THE ENDS OF YOUR ROPES " is an understatement. Actually two of the raps are significantly longer...

Re: Habrich - Best Approach?

Not sure. My friend did some fancy Strava stuff yesterday but that was for Sky Pilot. I would guess less than an hour to the firepit from the gondola. When I did Life on Earth two years ago it seemed to take about another hour to the base of the route, but, as I wrote, I believe the trail is better ...

Re: Sky Pilot - Ascent time from Gondola and Conditions

Worth noting that there are now rap anchors above the pink slab and also above one section near the summit. Placed by SAR?

Re: Habrich - Best Approach?

Gondola then follow the Sky Pilot approach trail to where there is a firepit, directly under Habrich's south face. Then take the trail to the left (north) that heads straight toward Habrich. Somewhere up there is a junction where you can go right to L of E and left to the col below the old west ridg...

Re: New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery

About 15m, but the last few metres are easy. The overhanging section is slightly shorter than on, say, Rug Munchers, but steeper and a little harder. I am reluctant to talk about quality ... I find it hard to be objective after crowbarring so much material off it. When I redpointed it, I was simulta...

New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery

Some people may have noticed that the central part of Halfway House has been a construction site for a while. I have been quarrying away there sporadically since last fall and finally have a line sent. Grade is about 12a, maybe harder. Pumpy side-pull/ gaston/ drop-knee fun to obvious twin anchors o...

Re: Simpson - Strong Tie Bolts - Warning

The prices however were better than MEC. Triton was $2.25 per bolt plus tax for the Hilti while MEC is $2.70 per bolt (I ordered 50 and split the box) The Strong Tie ones were $1.60 per bolt plus tax. I'm okay with paying the extra to have peace of mind, I'm usually the first one falling on them! I...
