This is sort of an asshole-ish thing to say, but the West Face isn't really an 'El Cap' route. The same goes for the East Buttress...

Regardless, a few different friends of mine have all done it and say it is pretty swell. Enjoy.

The first and second belay are both what I would call 'semi-hanging', meaning there is a no-hands stance at the belay, but you are deffinitely hanging out in your harness. A small foot feature helps to alleviate some of the discomfort of hanging, but you are pretty much getting the full squeeze. I'd...

Some consider U Wall to be 'easy' too, Brendan...

Maybe read your posts out-loud to yourself before submitting them, then you won't be surprized when someone calls you on being an idiot!

You should clearly skip out on Red Rocks and go to Yosemite on the 24th of September. The driving time is a paltry 18 hours and on the plus side, you could give me a ride ;)

mmm.. Desert Gold...

Brendan, you only need three days to climb everything worthwhile in Red Rocks.

1st day: DG
2nd day: Rainbow Wall Original Route
3rd day: Cloud Tower

Then you never have to go back!

He arm barred it.

There is an urban legend about Greg Camron's FFA that says he got inside the crack and squeeze chimneyed (a la the Harding Slot) at the pod before the crux. I have no idea if this tactic actually goes, I am certainly too scared to try.

Just do what my friend from Sacromento did when he climbed Pipeline yesterday - onsight solo it! (no joke)

No partner, no gear, no problem...

...I was floored.

Climbers have been aware of these boulders since the dark ages.

It seems like every few years another faction comes along to do repeat first ascents.

Anyone found the rurps yet?

Yo Marty!

Try 'Final Cut' at Nightmare. It is very short but pretty packed full of fun.

An easy tick for your 12a onsight quest.

I haven't seen Dosage 3 but I did see the film 'Return to Balance' (the full film to which that segment is from) last time I was in Yosemite. Talking with Ron Kauk about the film he made it clear to me that it wasn't another one of the ego/ techno pumping bouldering pornography flicks. It was art. I...
