Re: Has Vegetation Removal gone too far in Smoke Bluffs Park
Respiration Rock had a creek running along the bottom, plus tonnes of shade made this crag moss over really quickly. The climbs are great so I felt something had to be done. However, this park is not owned by climbers, and as this crag is on the loop trail, I felt a more sensitive approach was requi...

Re: What is typical squamish climbing?
There are plenty of sport routes to keep you busy, but most of them are a little outside of town (Chuck-Chuck Creek, Clint Eastwood, Chek, Area 44, Rogue's Gallery, Nordic, Soo Valley, Green River Bastion, etc) These range from 20 minutes to a 1h drive, and all have less than a half hour approach. C...

Re: Crag/Trail Work Suggestions
It's a fairly minor crag in the Bluffs, but Cheap Mango needs some tree removal and a light scrub. It would make a nice addition to your time at Call it a Day if it were tidier and more obvious. I might do it myself with all my spare time.

Re: coming to squamish could use some help
There are dozens of great single track mtb trails, check out the Diamond Head and Garibaldi Highlands areas. There is a trail map available at Corsa Cycles or Tanatalus Bike Shop, and you will see many people out on the trails that can recommend something for any level. In the mean time, check out h...

Re: Crumpit Woods development proposal
The development is above Plateau Drive, and I don't think there are any climbs affected, although I did come across 1 or 2 cool-looking boulders scattered throughout the area. There are however, 3 or 4 very popular MTB trails through the private property, which I don't think have any hope of protect...

That is Skunk Hollow. I think the info is in the book at Climb On, but I believe there is one 10c, and the rest are 11s and 12s?

Re: Climbing policies
A quick search of the Conservation Data Centre's website showed several Blue-listed species (threatened) living near McIntyre Bluff: Spotted Bats living on the cliff itself, and the Nuttall's Cottontail (rabbit) and the Great Basin Spadefoot (frog) living near the base. The area east of Gallagher La...

Re: Climbing policies
You could try using the Provincial mapping database called iMap: http://webmaps.gov.bc.ca/imfx/imf.jsp?site=imapbc . It can be complicated to use, but should be able to show everything you need (district lots, private land parcels, commercial leases and tenures, rec sites, water licenses, forest har...

Do 8a free climbers have more rights to chop than bolt ladder aiders? I still think it's bullsh*t.

Re: Local climber Jason Kruk makes historic ascent of compre
While I agree the bolts were installed in the poorest of forms at the time, they were a part of the history and the route as it was, and was probably all anyone growing up there can remember. I could see it being a serious affront to someone with a love of the mountain, faults included, who perhaps ...
