Re: The story behind Squamish route names
For me naming routes has been one of the great pleasures of putting up climbs. BK earlier made the statement " ah... another would be Dora's Delight, which I'm sure can best be imagined". So actually there is a little story behind that name. When I was working on routes in the Bulletheads, specifica...

Lost/dropped Jacket
My friend from back east dropped a blue MEC windbreaker, still stuffed in it's pouch, from the second pitch of Over the Rainbow. It landed on the ledge at the start of the first pitch of Diedre. A number of people were there so hopefully someone will be kind enough to drop my friend Greg a note. His...

Seal Cove
Hi Jack and Peter,
Thanks you guys and nice to hear from you!
Jack,
We should definitely get out again! I am away for the next 5 weeks with work, but when I get back we will hopefully have some nice autumn slab weather to enjoy.

AMO Wall new routes and Seal Cove update
Thanks Ras. You may well be right regarding the grade. I felt it was solid 10, but not hard 10, when I first climbed it. However last time I did it I thought it seemed harder. Maybe some features came off or smoothed over. Did you try any of the other routes? Regarding that lone bolt. There was an o...

AMO Wall new routes and Seal Cove update
As kindly pointed out under the original AMO wall thread, the topo and descriptions (I'm not the best Topo artist, sorry!) for the AMO Wall are now available at the Quickdraw Publications Web-site. I am very interested in hearing what people think of the grades on my new routes there. I also added a...

Reaper bolts
I was very interested to read what Craig said. I really hope that is not the case. When i was there with Neil he did point out some of Robin's bolts near the Reaper. I chatted with Robin and as I recall Robin then removed the bolts that were too close. I would be happy to go back with Neil again and...

Grim Reaper
I have never involved myself in on-line discussions before, but thought that since my friend Anders threw my name out there that I might as well join in. Anyway, regarding bolts on and around the Grim Reaper, it was a long time ago that I spent the day with Neil Bennett on the Apron, checking where ...

Gear rack found
I found a rack of gear today. If you can identify the most likely place you left it and list the gear, we can arrange to get it back to you.
