I'm all for safety but a noob trying to rap-scramble that section is not going to be able to use their hands properly and is probably going to be pretty unstable. Hypothetically they could be more at risk of accident by losing stability, traction, and control of the rap than if they just scrambled i...

Slab Alley has been on my Squamish tick list for a couple of years and I have been meaning to climb it. I know it doesn't get climbed a lot but I didn't realize it was really dirty or whatever. If Slab Alley was to be restored, I would definitely wait until the project was complete to get the best c...

Should there be fixed anchors and/or lines along Broadway, and if so where and to what standard? As far as I know, in decades of climbing history at Squamish, there have never been fixed anchors and/or lines on Broadway. It also seems clear that the majority of climbers do not feel they are necessa...

Every once in a while fixed ropes appear somewhere or other and then most people seem to unquestioningly yard on them like there is no tomorrow. If fixed ropes ever protect class 4 terrain, like that no-fall zone on Broadway just North of the Diedre platform, they need to be bomb-proof. Especially i...

It is true that the font is "pretty funky" but because the document is a PDF you do not need to worry about installing fonts on your computer. Nor should you really need to update your Acrobat Reader. However, since the font is very small, you may need to zoom in on the document in order to read it ...

The route is a project and unless the person who is putting up the route says its ok, STAY OFF intil the orange tag is removed and it has been posted that the route has been FA'd! You heard the man, people. Project scooping is not cool!!! For my project Lefty , I spent close to 20 hours hours clean...

I'll check on the In the Bubble situation but uh... last time I was up there a week or two ago Challenger still had a red tape on the first bolt. I know people have been on Challenger which isn't surprising, but I think the only person who can actually "send" it is the route developer on the FA. Unt...

J Mace is correct. You can park outside the gates in the residential area near the convenience store at the corner of Lynn Valley Road and Dempsey Road. This convenience store is called the End of the Line General Store. Access to the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve is quick and easy via a short ...

The Dark Side yes... Thanks for the beta Rolf. I'll get the topo updated shortly. I counted 11 hanging quickdraws but I guess I was also counting a quickdraw off the anchor. Those tree-huggers are a real problem on that route I noticed, always shouting hysterically and getting in the way of the lead...

Glad to hear people are enjoying the area! Yes, Sully's Hangout is shady and cool. And yes, it is a slow to dry out completely, especially in spring and fall. However, significant vegetation management--including tree removal and modification--is not an open question. If at all, vegetation managemen...
