Just a quick note;
I've noticed that some of the new routes shown in the topo's were chipped! Several of which have had the bolts removed.

O.P. I'd say go with a bolt if you're sure it can't be protected with gear (ballnut?). Pins can become unreliable quickly with a few falls, stainless or not. They are also difficult to judge the quality when on lead. Furthermore, bashing a pin in to the same crack several times damages the rock irre...

If the move can be protected with modern gear, why replace the pin? I'd say update the topo and enjoy the new challenge.

Just a quick note re. Fern Hill. The land which it is located on has recently been transferred to Squamish First Nations. I'd advise a low profile until we get an idea of how this may or may not affect access to this area.

You can buy a ratchet style slackline kit from Climb On (Slackers Slacklines). Personally, I made my own kit out of double pulleys, static line, and a grigri. Very easy to tension, very easy to take down. I can rig a line tight up to around 80ft long.

You can park at the bottom of the hill at Check and walk up in the snow. If I were you, I'd stick with Murrin.

Kevlar; People generally leave their gear in the tent or in the car. There are also small bear boxes for food in which you could also leave smaller valuables. It's pretty rare that anything is stolen from a closed tent but it has happened. Most of the theft problem is preventable. Don't leave your i...

Mank Patrol

Hi everybody; The S.A.S. is looking to create a list of manky anchors, rap stations, even rusted bolts in Squamish. If you've come across some mank, post up the location here. For example; The anchors of Finger Lickin' Good are chains and washers with no hangers and are eroding the rock. In the gull...
