There is some dirt and gravel trapped behind it. Use caution, that sucker would maker a devastating missile coming down from...

Re: Pic of the day!
psi4ce goes for the win! An awesome Skaha trad lead. Bonus points for what route she's on. Oh, they are both on "Brilliant Pebbles" 5.10c aren't they? Great climb. Classic Skaha, right? A little cruxy for the grade, right? Anyway, OK, I'll play. Saar on the summit of Matier via the West Buttress 5....

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
But if their covenant simply said the land could not be used for a gondola period, we would not be having this discussion in the first place. I've always believed that it was an absolute travesty that TLC sold the gravel pit to begin with. The absolutely amazing opportunity to commit that land to t...

*EDIT*Yes, well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion.and in this case this business stands to create and protect far more than it threatens to take away.

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
State your views, the reasons you have them, why you’re interested in this issue, who you are, and where you live. Remind them that government’s job is to protect and manage parks, in the public interest. Hey Anders, I just want to say THANKS! I've been opposed to the gondola proposal right from th...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
What do people think. If you are a CASBC member (and you should be) let them know. They need input from members to help guide their advocacy and work they do on behalf of climbers. I am a CASBC member and I did let them know specifically and on more than one occasion that I think they should oppose...

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
The Wilderness Committee and Sierra Club of BC oppose the park land removal and warn this sets a dangerous precedent Modification of the park by installing a gondola is a travesty that must never be allowed happen. $29 to ride the gondola is like paying for cheap prostitution. Once this thing is in...

Re: Cleaning moss? Is it wrong?
If you are going to clean it off, and nobody else is ever going to climb it, and it is just going to be forgotten, yeah, it is destructive, and wrong. That moss can take decades to grow, and it's part of the forest ecosystem. There are all kinds of rocks you can climb on on the North Shore that are ...
