Re: South Apron reopen July 5th

Here is the picture I took this morning (July 5) of the rockfall area on the Apron- you can clearly see the initiation point and then how the rock cascaded down the slope. Is the "initiation point" that big white gash at the top of the Sickle pitch? Aren't those fresh scars above that white gash as...

Re: A helping hand

Not a lot of development going on these days, lots in the off season though. Go scrub something.

Re: Squamish or Vancouver for Canada Day weekend?

It's been raining for a while now so I doubt you'll have any trouble finding a spot at the campground on Saturday. Sun's coming out indefinitely next week so perfect time to get up here.

Re: rock fall? on trail from penny lane gully to spiderfly..

No wait, is it at the base of a short bolted, somewhat mossy arete (route unknown), just before the log stairs? It looked to have been scrubbed off that route, or fell off late this winter.

Re: rock fall? on trail from penny lane gully to spiderfly..

Is it the one right near the bottom of the concrete steps, just west of Spiderfly? If so, it happened "naturally" a year or two ago, shortly after the new trail was put in by the mini-x.

Marchello Shoe Repair

Anybody tried it out? Quality? Price? Speediness? I've only sent my shoes away for re-soling through Climb On, or taken them directly to Gold Star on Dunbar. Neither are super quick, but they usually come back pretty well done. 5.10 or La Sportiva rubber? Thinking about taking my Katanas there.

Re: Customisable Climbing Shoes

I have trouble finding shoes that fit my heels. There always seems to be too much room and an air pocket at the bottom, and pulling too tightly forward at the top. Plus the rubber wears out too quickly and is not sticky enough. It should be like suction cups and last at least 10 years between re-sol...

Re: Kingswood Condo Project above Mamquam Blind Channel

I attended one of the recent meetings with the developers and they have done a lot of design work to slow down traffic coming off of Hwy 99 into the condo site by adding a deceleration lane, and plan on a slight re-route of the Corridor Trail, where it will look quite similar to the London Drugs sec...

Re: Good Restaurants?

Second that for the Brewpub. It's rare that at least one person in a group doesn't have something go wrong with their order. "Sorry, I know everyone else at your table has already finished eating and had 2 beers, but we're all out of that beer you ordered at the beginning of the night. Do you want s...
