Re: Large rockfall, North Walls

That would likely be the most horrendous bushwack ever. Slide alder over talus. Fun stuff. Plus updated info from BC parks: May 20 – May 22, 2015: Rock scaling work is being done from May 20 through May 22 in the vicinity of the rock fall that occurred in the Angel’s Crest area. The public is asked ...

Altamont is directly north of Woodstock in the gully on the new Capilano Connector between Woodstock and Quercus. For those who don't know, Altamont was...

Re: No more Squamish Mountain Festival

This caught us at SAS by surprise as well. The mountain fest was important for us at SAS to spread the word about what we do and recruit members and the trail day was an important community building event. I guess that Arcteryx believes that there are better marketing opportunities to sell 700$ jack...

Nesting Closure - Sunshine Chimney - Swedish Touch

A pair of common ravens has built a nest on a rock ledge within the Sunshine Chimney Centre climbing route, which is located on the Campground Wall behind the cooking shelter at the Stawamus Chief campground. Climbers have reported agitated behaviour from the ravens when climbing in this area. To pr...

Re: Crag just north of the radio tower in the Bluffs

Nighthawk Moss to the east of radio tower is a nice thin out crag though. 5.7 to 5.10 with a southeast exposure. An older Barley cliff though with the 2 link Barley special anchors though.

Re: new area at Murrin past Quercus

The loose block on wavy gravy has been safely trundled by unknown persons and it missed the bench too. It was a very sizable nugget.

Re: what's the climbing like in nelson, BC?

I have a friend living in Castlegar going to college there. She says the climbing there is pretty good with lots of development potential on nice granite and Shuwshup Gneiss.
