Re: Copper Cove mystery climbs

Climbed Roof Tiles (and a couple other routes at Copper Cove) yesterday. It was scruffy and the last bolt (about 7 m from the anchors) was missing its' hanger. The nut was on the bolt stud, so I slipped a wired nut over both, cinched up the wired nut and tightened the bolt's nut by hand before clipp...

Re: Cypress new climbs.

Hey folks: Quick report. Went to explore these new climbs after work yesterday and found dry, cool stone and great climbs. The Knucklehead formation was in good shape (but could use more traffic to combat the green machine). We did the two moderate crack climbs ( 5.9 & 5.8 ) and they were both fun, ...

Re: Ghostdancing

Hi Rolf and Bruce: I've been following this discussion closely because I once climbed the first pitch (only!) of Ghostdancing and really enjoyed it - but agree with Bruce that the opening is very dangerous and is causing a lack of traffic - and I was seconding! I'm glad that you gave permission to C...

Re: Jingus the Cat - Rescrubbed and Dug-Out

Hey MarkR:

Thanks very much for this service to the climbing community. :D Jingus the Cat is a great one and is highly recommended for any 5.10 (and up) lead climber! Get on this classic, people and stop it from mossing over.

cheers,
Steve

Hi, I *believe* that this was the site of an accident last summer: http://www.piquenewsmagazine.com/whistler/search-and-rescue-comes-to-aid-of-one-its-own/Content?oid=2657258 But my memory is so-so, it might have been another crag at the Outpost. In any event, it might be prudent to check all holds ...

Re: Quarry Rock North Vancouver - Closure

Thanks for the thorough update, Rich. Although I am unable to offer advice with how to move things forward, I wish you (and others at CASBC) luck on this, as I love the climbing there. I have hiked the trail down from Indian River Road and past the lookout rock and agree that it is a great hike and ...

Hi Hevy:

Thanks for all the work you've done and continue to do around the bluffs. How can one acquire your new guide? Is it available yet?

Found: Blue Hoody at The Playground

Hello:

If you were climbing at the Playground recently and own a blue Hoody with a big "H" on it (I think there was some smaller writing on it having to do with Huron Street School??), it is hanging on the tree at the bottom of the crag. Please collect it.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Best to be more discreet

As a small community, self-enforcement is one of the ways to keep people in check. I agree. I too love Crescent Crack (and other routes at the lower M@L@mootE) but sitting on and belaying on the tracks? That shows a lack of common sense and threatens all of our community's access to this resource. ...

The name to new route is "charlottes ride to the sky"! Enjoy! Hi all: Late yesterday, my friend Wes and I climbed Charlotte's Ride to the Sky and "enjoy" we did! People: hop in this great multi-pitch. It is varied and thought-provoking, with good protection, nice belay stances, fabulous views and t...
