Re: Current conditions in Squamish
Was there much rain there this past weekend? Is the rock wet/seeping? Probably too late a response to be useful for you today ... : there was a reasonable amount of rain on Saturday but my impression is that, as everything was so dry before, there is zero seepage to worry about. You were right, sir...

Re: Current conditions in Squamish
Hey Squamptonites:
Was there much rain there this past weekend? Is the rock wet/seeping? I'm thinking of coming up to climb after work today. Thanks for your local observations.

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts. PB Hey Perry, Thanks for letting us know what is actually happening. It's good to get your first-hand perspective. The media reports tend to emphasize drama and conflict. I appreciate the time you've taken to update our climbing community. cheers, Steve

Re: Hard substance sprayed on boulders
Worth checking on though, just to make sure the system isn't going sideways. I agree that it is very worth following up on. Sometimes the film industry is careful about returning places to their previous condition, and sometimes not. A lot depends on the integrity of the crew involved. (I worked in...

I thought that Angel's Crest was closed due to the massive rockfall that occurred in late May? Is it now officially "open"?MikeyG wrote: We were up on Angel's Crest yesterday

Re: Dingo Ate My Baby 5.11-, 4 pitch sport
New sources indicated that climber was on a route in the same area as Centurion and sounds like it was the route Dingo Ate My Baby. According to sources, the climbers were at the start of the second pitch when the climber on lead pulled on a flake that he suspected was a little loose, the block fel...

Hey, aren’t you (WhippersAndTears) the same Jesse James that started the nonsense entitled “Sunset Strip horror show” a couple of years ago? Has that notoriety already worn off?

Re: New take on an old route at Shannon Falls
Just wanted to let folks know that I finished the cleaning and likely first free ascent of the old aid route Weeping Wall at Shannon Falls on November 15. Hi Kris: Thanks very much and I can't wait to give it a go. I really enjoyed the retro job you gave Hanging Gardens on the Papoose, too. Steve

Thanks, Bearbreeder.
It was fun to peruse that Guidebook online and see how much things have changed, but in other ways a lot of stuff hasn't changed all that much (the comment about bolts being "a necessary evil", for example). Fabulous illustrations, too.

Cool. I vote for a 3D printed version of the Spinal Tap Stonehedge scene. A true classic. "This amp goes to 11." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3L4EZwmRrA

Re: Awesome sh*t - at the Smoke Bluffs
Hi: The new outhouse in the smoke bluffs is great...but yesterday morning it was completely out of toilet paper. Is there anyone keeping an eye on this? If not, I'll try to remember to bring a few rolls with me during our next visit. We had another fun family climbing day yesterday, doing the 5.7 -....
