I once read a statement on the Smoke Bluffs chalkboard, it said "Don't climb on staples". I didn't understand at the time because I had not seen one yet. As soon as I clipped one though, I agreed wholeheartedly.

I'm sure most soloists heading up Calculus Crack, Diedre or Banana Peel would rather have the whole route to themselves, but that is not often in the summer. Not necessairly true Dave. Often it is quite easy to find yourself alone on those routes in the evening after the crowds are done for the day...

I called Valhalla on friday and they said the books should be in stock next week. Something about the shipment from the factory being mixed up.

Point is, I don't care if you can climb 5.12 in your flip-flops, you're a jack a$% if you're not taking into consideration the uncontrollable variable which is your fellow climbers. You, the rock and weather may be solid but people panic, they drop sh*t, they bail, they throw their rope without war...
