Dan, I recommend spelling out some more detail about your experience, target grade range, preferred style of climbing, etc.

Re: New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery

The obvious line just left of Compromise Direct is now The Impasse. 5 bolts (stick-clip the first one). Very bouldery off the ground to a rest, then weird movement up and out of the groove. I have no idea of the grade. It was quite a fight for me, but my sequence may have been dumb. High 11, low 12?

Re: New Crag " The Playground"

Paid a visit this evening with my 7 year old son. A great kids' venue. Looks like a lot of work was involved in the scrubbing and base clearance. Thanks!

Found: spectacles under Smoke Bluff cliff

Very compact reading (?) glasses in an aluminium case found under a popular Smoke Bluffs cliff yesterday evening. PM me if they are likely to be yours.

seeking weekdays climbers, especially for sport

I am looking for weekday climbing partners, especially for sport climbing ... 5.11 to high 5.12/ low 5.13. I try to balance projecting harder stuff with getting a reasonable volume of routes done. I am free most weekdays all year but typically constrained by school hours. I can get out at 9-10am but...

Re: A Guide to Sandbagging Newbies and Sportclimbers

Having admin privileges on this site, I can see a little more information than most people. Both Jesse and his girlfriend have used at least two different user ID's here - which is weird but no big deal. More unsettling to me, having done some light googling on real names, is that both have styled t...

Re: New perma-dry route(s), Halfway House, Rogues Gallery

Fawlty Towers now extended to the top through the obvious stacked overhangs. No change in grade, though definitely a better route. Steep! Needs 14 quickdraws. The "cheat log" has been replaced with a "cheat patio". I hope to add 2-3 more lines to this cliff and have been clearing vegetation at the b...

Re: Large rockfall, North Walls

The press talks about four climbers being evacuated. Does anyone know which route they were on?

Large rockfall, North Walls

Seems like a big piece of the upper section of Northern Lights just came off. Not good news for anyone on that wall or bouldering by the forest service road under there. :(

Anyone have more detail?

Re: Crag just north of the radio tower in the Bluffs

Nighthawk Moss to the east of radio tower is a nice thin out crag though. 5.7 to 5.10 with a southeast exposure. An older Barley cliff though with the 2 link Barley special anchors though. topo Never visited that cliff. Do the routes ever get any traffic? AFAIK it's outside the park on private land...

smoke bluffs cameo at The Enormocast

From the latest enormocast.com podcast, at 0:50:00 Chris Kalous reads a listener email describing chaos at a Bluffs cliff midsummer. I thought it was funny. One Bluffs regular is very easily identifiable ...
